Corporate Brainfit™ Programs
“Employers now believe that the important issue is not the cost of care, but the cost of an unhealthy workforce.” |
Statistics Canada has calculated the cost of work time lost to stress at $12 billion a year. This loss is in terms of absenteeism, lost productivity, poor customer service and escalating short and long-term disability claims.
Brainfit™ programs can make a difference in your workplace and in your bottom line.
Brainfit programs work with the human bottom line – the way our brains work
The difference in the brainfit approach is that it deals with the very foundation of all our behaviour – the way our brains work. Current scientific research shows us that the key to increasing the efficiency of our brains is actually simple. We need to increase the number of connections between brain cells. Brainfit training provides simple and easy techniques to increase these brain cell connections, and when our brains become more efficient and resilient, we become more efficient and resilient – in the workplace and in our personal lives.
Employees willingly use brainfit programs long-term
Brainfit’s holistic approach provides skills and techniques that help people not just at work, but also in their personal lives. Because employees can clearly see the personal benefits of brainfit programs, they are more motivated to welcome and practice them, unlike so many other “corporate wellness” programs that often fail to deliver lasting benefits and encounter resistance from employees. This leads to a higher rate of success and a healthier, more productive and creative workforce.
Brainfit programs benefit both an employee’s work life and home life
Many people underperform at work because they are not staying mentally fit and not handling stress well at work or at home. We demonstrate the interconnectedness of home life and work life mental fitness and provide proven techniques that help people to make their own significant improvements.
Brainfit programs create more efficient and stress-resilient workplaces
With brainfit programs, employees will be mentally sharp and resilient at the start of the work week, and still mentally sharp and ready to enjoy home and family life at the end of the week. This is a unique benefit of brainfit training. We enable employees to be more resilient to stress and to handle crises better in every area of their lives, not just at work. This helps to create a workplace with employees who take fewer sick days, fewer employees who underperform and fewer employees on disability for conditions that are caused or exacerbated by stress.

Brainfit™ to Stay Sharp
“We live in an information economy, it’s a brain-based economy, and a healthy mind is very important to the successful operation...of the economy.” |
It used to be believed that a decline in brain functioning was inevitable with age. It is now known that we can stay mentally sharp by increasing the number of connections between brain cells. And training people to increase the number of brain cell connections is the essence of the brainfit approach.
Brainfit to Stay Sharp translates the latest scientific research into simple, effective and easy-to-use techniques that can easily be incorporated into busy lifestyles to keep you and your workforce mentally sharp and competitive.
Why is the Brainfit to Stay Sharp program so important in today’s workplace?
Because knowledge is power. The ability to absorb and retain information swiftly is a critical skill that is perhaps the most important asset any worker can have in the information age of the 21st century. The ability to make connections and build on existing knowledge to create fresh ideas and intellectual property distinguishes the really productive employee – the employee who has “knowledge mastery.” Only people who have this ability can consistently add value to their organization.
Brainfit™ to Become StressResilient™
Our experience of stress is controlled by our brain. That’s why being brainfit is the key to stress management and stress-resilience. Brainfit to Become StressResilient teaches you ways to control the brain mechanisms that trigger the stress responses of “fight, flight, and freeze.”
Learn how to protect yourself from “hypothalamus hijack” – the stress master switch in your brain that triggers the mind and body stress response.
With this brainfit program, you learn to take control of your own “hot buttons” and you won’t let your job, your fellow workers, or even your kids, have the power to throw your stress “master switch.” You learn about “hypothalamus hijack,” what causes it, how this process bypasses the rational part of the brain at challenging moments, and instead jumpstarts a full-blown stress response that can wreak havoc on your health and your relationships with co-workers, family and other key people in your life. And then you’ll learn how to protect yourself from it.
Unmanaged chronic stress increases the risk of major diseases.
The health problems that result from untreated stress are massive in human and monetary terms. Those who experience stressful work on an ongoing basis are twice as likely to have cardiovascular problems, up to five times as likely to develop certain cancers, and two to three times as likely to suffer from depression. And this pattern of elevated risk continues for many other very serious and life-threatening conditions such as Alzheimer’s, diabetes and auto-immune diseases.
Did you know that just thinking about a stressful circumstance can set off the stress response? Clearly there is a need for greater sophistication and effectiveness in handling this challenge than many stress management programs offer. Brainfit to Become Stress-Resilient does offer effective and practical, easy-to-implement solutions to help keep employees fit and healthy and stress-resilient.
Brainfit™ to Manage Change
It’s a maxim of business that organizations need to keep evolving to meet the needs of their customers and keep up with the competition. But how can you keep doing this when your workforce is suffering from overwork, anxiety or “change fatigue”?
Dozens of large studies have demonstrated that people who manage change poorly are much more likely to have difficulties at work and are at far greater risk of heart and stroke disease and many other serious diseases.
Recent research in organizational psychology has highlighted the problem of “presenteeism,” where workers keep coming to work but underperform. Presenteeism results in massive costs in lost productivity, resistance to change, low morale, poor work relationships, bad customer relations and other major challenges to productivity and profitability.
Brainfit to Manage Change is empowering and equips people to face the waves of change with a “psychological surfboard” instead of an expectation of being swamped.
Brainfit™ to Handle Information Overload
A Canadian Business and Economic Roundtable on Mental Health report has said that a principal cause of stress among employees is a prolonged sense of constant catch-up, interruption and distraction – in other words, information overload.
The average office worker receives a total of over 220 messages a day (phone, email, fax, memo, etc.). More information has been produced in the last 30 years than in the previous 5,000, and it is estimated that over two billion gigabytes of new information is being produced every year. Even within a relatively narrow speciality, it is extremely challenging to keep up to date with current developments, to spot trends ahead of the pack and to keep a competitive edge.
Brainfit to Handle Information Overload shifts the emphasis back to the crucial human factor that is so often overlooked in today’s technology-driven world. We can help you and your employees optimize your most valuable software, the human brain. Employees can regain a sense of control that leads to their greater productivity and creativity. And you and your employees can shift the workplace emphasis to the core of your business rather than “putting out fires” and lurching from crisis to crisis.
Tell us about your workplace and we’ll tell you how brainfit programs can help.
